What tests do i need to get the appropriate glasses?

Refraction: Best care for this is an ophthalmologist who will measure your need for eyeglasses and take into consideration the history of eye problems, general health and your visual needs. The process for the power of the glasses is termed 'refraction' and you will be given an eyeglass or contact lens prescription.

A good refraction: A careful refraction ("which is better, 1...Or 2?") by an optometrist or an ophthalmologist is needed to obtain a glasses rx. You'd then need to have an optician make the glasses from the rx (sometimes located in the same place). An intrapupillary distance measurement is needed if you plan to get your glasses online. Blurring disorders (e.g., dry eye, allergy eye) need to be treated first.
