Deviated septum: Most likely your septum, the wall that separates the nose into two sides, is blocking the left side. Normally in the down nasal cavity the turbinates swell from increased blood flow thru the tissues. So if the left is blocked by the septum and you lay on the right then both sides plug. If you lay on the left then the left just plugs more but the up right side opens. Need to see ENT to be sure.
