Not really but: Can get saline in power nebulization to loosen the secretions. Buy some Prednisone pills for few days, but get assistance. Most states has service for uninsure people & medical schools have program to assist patients.

Environment & meds: W/o testing, it's hard to give specific avoidance measures. If there's passive/ active smoking, this must be stopped. Eliminating areas of h20 damage, feather pillows/comforters, replacing old pillows, replacing what can't be hot h20 washed, etc. Spending money on a prescription low dose inhaled corticosteroid used regularly can pay for itself with decreased albuterol/er use. Stiff coffee acutely.
