A member asked:

Are there any stem cell research about permanente muscle spasms?

4 doctors weighed in across 2 answers

Never heard of any: Stem cell research focuses on spinal cord injury and rejuvenation and several chronic progressive diseases. The work is not intended to focus on nonspecific symptoms which may be caused by a variety of different mechanisms. In your case, see your doctor and get a diagnosed answer as to why you possess a spasm.

No: Stem cell research would not be done for muscle spams. However, some doctors have tried treatment of refractory and localized muscle spasms with platelet reach plasma (prp), a procedure that intends to heal injured tissue using the body's own stem cells. The results are anectodal.
