There's an old book : Called " the family bed" on this topic. Co-sleeping tends to cause night-waking after 6 mos. The aap's " back to sleep" campaign recommends putting an infant in his/her own bed, supine, drowsy, but awake, to consolidate sleep from 1-4 mos. If you are your child's " sleep association, " the aap's healthy minds app or www.Aap.Org has graded methods for getting him/her to sleep in his/her own room.
