Inhaled medication: Often, swelling of the nasal passages obstructs breathing. It might be readily alleviated with an inhaled steroid. Only a careful exam by your doctor, or by an ear, nose and throat specialist, can determine the appropriate approach.

Muscles? or mucus?: Increased nasal mucus can impede breathing. Using saline nasal spray can help liquify mucus so u can remove it more easily. Vaporizers or humidifiers also help loosen mucus. If problem persists, see doc to find out cause of increased mucus: infection, allergies, etc.
