A member asked:

My 8 yr old had jaundice as a baby.his eyes are yellow and he wheezes.should i be concerned about his eyes?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes: Jaundice as a baby is unlikely to have anything to do with his "yellow eyes" today. He needs to be seen by his physician & evaluated for several illnesses that can produce this finding. It could be as minimal as a hereditary defect in transfer of bilirubin metabolites through the liver or a sign of liver disease. I can't put the wheezing together with the jaundice but both should be assessed.
