Any number of things: If you are unsatisfied with a medical answer, you should seek a second opinion; this does not mean that the second opinion will be better, or even different from the first. With regards to your pain, we need far more information to be of any help.

Be Open: When going for a second opinion regarding any issue, be open about the fact that you are seeking a second opinion and bring with you any available records or results from the original opinion. Describe why a second opinion is desired (failed to improve? Unwilling to proceed with treatment suggested?). A high-quality doc is not offended when his/her patient seeks another opinion.
