Swollen lymphode left side of neck under chin, very painful to swallow/talk. no fever, cough or sore throat just swollen gland do i need antibiotics?

No: First you need a diagnosis. Lymph nodes enlarge when they are working to contain an infection or a tumor, but this is not always responsive to antibiotics, particularly if due to a virus. See a doctor and have this examined. You could probably wait to see if this went down and became less tender with time before going to an er.

Monitoring Centers: Lymphatic system absorbs/carries things too big to go into the arteries/veins like bacteria eaten by white cells and digested food. Lymph nodes "taste" the lymph for anything bad like bacteria/viruses/cancers, etc. When it detects a problem, it alerts the immune system and your body reacts. They enlarge in response to the inflammation they create when they react. They shrink when all is well.
