Probably the uterine: Engorgement of blood and enlargement may cause pressure on your urinary bladder causing your symptom. Get checked for diabetes. Take care!

Autonomic nerves: My own theory is at time of menses a hormone, called relaxin, is released & loosens pelvic girdle ligaments. Same hormone released during pregnancy. Increased pelvic girdle range of motion for torsion jostles parasympathetic nerves of pelvic presacral plexus, including parasympathetic nerves that stimulate smooth muscle of bladder wall. See discussion on my pain board at quora.Com about ibs.
