Yes: Home pregnancy tests are most accurate when it's been 4 weeks after your last menstrual period. So if you're expecting yours in one week, then it's too early for it to be negative. Always take tests as instructed for best results. If painful to urinate, go see family doc for possible UTI or bladder infection.
