Hematoma: This would depend on the cause and if you have symptoms. I would see your surgeon to see if it can or needs to be drained.

See UR surgeon: Go back and see your surgeon. I don't know what approach was used but maybe you need to be drained, only the surgeon who operated is your address to go to. Don't delay!

See Surgeon.: Best to be seen by your surgeon who is in the position to accurately diagnose and advise treatment for the “large mass”. If it is a residual "mass" from a hematoma, time and the use of warm compresses may be all that is necessary. Sometimes, aspiration or drainage may be necessary. It will be important to rule out ( physical examination) recurrence of the hernia. Best wishes.
