Possibly normal: Although possibly normal, two other possibilities are early diabetes (should show up as sugar in the urine) and irritation to the outside of the urethra. This is fairly common in boys and girls this age, and often caused by soap in bathwater. Try avoiding soapy water in this area and see if it resolves.

Many: See your doctor to discuss and rule out constipation and other causes that can push the bladder, making its capacity small thus frequent voids. Also to consider is problems with bladder control such as over active bladder or poor innervation (neurogenic bladder). It very well may be simply attention seeking behavior (ie only while awake?) an ultrasound helps a lot.
