Heart Rate & Resista: Heart rate & resistatance are the determinates. For a cardio-work out, working out at a given heart rate using the same muscleas-equivalent; cardio-using more muscle (rowing/xc-skiing) more work for same hr. For resistance exercise the equation breaks down, because you can do circuit weights, versus pure strength training.
