Yes: Optometrists should be able to provide you with a written report if asked. Know that optometrists and ophthalmologist are different in their education. Ophthalmologist are mds who can perform surgery if needed. The american academy of ophthalmology recommends patients do see an eyemd for their medical eye care needs (dilated retinal exam, for instance).
