I have a painful gland in the back of my neck, stiffness when i turn my head and corresponding shoulder pain. Ideas?

See below: Neck pain with stiffness usually comes from degenerative changes to the disc or joints. The pain can commonly refer to the head, shoulders, or even shoulder blade. If there is a "pinched nerve" in the neck this can also lead to shoulder blade pain.
