A member asked:

Could a swollen uterus be a symptom of period starting?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes: There is significant additional congestion (additional blood flow) in the uterus just before the onset of a period. There can be as much as a 30% difference in volume, especially if the uterus contains benign smooth muscle tumors known as fibroids. These tumors depend on estrogen and are very common.
