It should not: There are reports of Depakote causing high blood pressure in under 5% of people who take it. There are some smaller reports in about 2% of it causing low blood pressure. In general, there has been no significant reporting of bringing on high blood pressure when stopping it. The biggest concern is having seizures in those who were taking it for that reason.
