Yes some times: Most of the time acute diverticulitis with have symptoms, may not show symptoms when a small area involved with mild infection or when immunity is suppressed for what ever the reason.

Yes: A mild attack of diverticulites might be associated with miminal pain and no fever, though having diverticulites at age 19 would be exceedingly rare.
