May help a lot but..: Like many natural therapies, there have been no human studies yet on the use of coconut oil in alzheimer's but there are many case reports/testimonials & some animal studies that suggest that it might be very helpful for at least some.While there are no guarantees, at the very least it is safe & harmless to try. Unknown: Coconut oil actually is not healthy but it is a good alternative to butter and margarine for baking purposes. Its main fat, a saturated fat called lauric acid, may have some anti-infection benefits and is believed to raise good cholesterol. However, few studies in humans have actually been done. Most studies done are from brazil and philippines, where coconut products are a major export.
