A member asked:

If i look up and feel my neck i can feel the outline of my thyroid, does this mean its enlarged ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Maybe nothing: The thyroid is hard to feel, unless it is huge. It blends in with your neck muscles, fat, cartilage. Some patients who tell me they feel their thyroid are feeling something else, but they get focused on it, and keep stroking "it" until the skin on their neck gets red. Even many doctors are only so-so at examining the thyroid unless they do it a lot.
