UTI : Ciprofloxacin (cipro (ciprofloxacin)) is a quinolone antibiotic which is usually a good choice for broad coverage for acute bacterial cystitis. 3 days of treatment is enough for treatment if the cystitis is uncomplicated and the urine culture shows that the bacteria is sensitive to cipro (ciprofloxacin). 7-10 days for complicated cystitis.

Can be: Ciprofloxacin is an excellent antibiotic to treat cystitis secondary to susceptible bacteria; unfortunately, in large parts of the United States, the resistance rate is unacceptable to use it as empiric therapy. If your local area does not have issues with resistance, then it is reasonable. Duration for uncomplicated cystitis is 3 days.
