Healing is healing: Wounds heal side to side. If mesh implanted that reduces some of the wound tension, but needs to heal in solidly. Follow your surgeons instructions, he/she knows the findings and tissues and technique and is in the best position to guide. Generally do not stress the area.

Complex: It depends in the location of the hernia repairs, and techniques for repair. Also, whether or not it was one or multiple sites. Regardless of the site, the body will heal at its own rate after repair. The typical range for recovery without complications is 1-12 weeks.
