Variable: You are most likely having pain secondary to the operation itself, with all the tissue manipulation, trauma, sutures and mesh. While significant pain should be subsided (or at least it should be soon), you may have the sensation of something in the abdominal wall, and occasional minor pain for years, but none of this will likely limit your activities.
