See a doctor.: Have you seen a doctor, who diagnosed the staph infection? If so, you should have been put on some oral antibiotics, unless the symptoms were not this severe at the time. The painful lump is an enlarged lymph node, reacting to fight the infection. You need medical evaluation and antibiotics.
