Infection: Peritonitis is an infection of the lining of your abdomen; there is no visible "poison" to say what it looks like. It is characterized by abdominal pain and fever.

Depends on the cause: Peritonitis is the inflammation of the lining of the abdomen. Many things can cause this - blood, bile, infection, etc. So i guess the poison would look like whatever was causing that particular peritonitis. Most often the "poison" looks like a mix of bile and pus when caused by a perforated bowel or appendix. Blood obviously looks like blood? Why do you ask?
