The isotope is cooked with eggs until firm in microwave.Different laboratories have different standards for performing test. You should ask how reliable test is with the laboratory you are using.

I would say none: The food needed for a proper study is a standardized meal prepared and mixed with radioactive tracers by the nuclear medicine technologist. I have not heard of patients bringing food to the imaging center. They should provide meal.

None.: Unless you are allergic to several types of food, in which case you have to let the department of nuclear medicine know about it, gastric emptying studies are performed with a very standardized meal containing a small quantity of radioactive material. The meals must be standardized because the normal values of gastric emtying have been derived from these typical meals.
