Neuropathy: If the outer three fingers are numb, that insinuates possible nerve injury to the ulnar nerve, either due to the infection directly or due to prolonged compression from swelling. Healing is possible with nerve damage, but usually very slow.

Ulnar nerve: You very likely have an injury to the ulnar nerve. This usually occurs at the elbow or wrist and could be caused by swelling from an infiltrated IV but it could also relate to something in your neck. See your doctor you will be referred to neurology or rehabilitation for further eval.
