Lifethreatening: This can be from diabetes to infection of the brain. You need to seek hlep immdeiately. This sounds like it could be life threatening.

Blood check for DM: Blurry vision and reduced alertness can be due to a variety of issues. Your md might want to do blood tests to check for diabetes and normal kidney function. If you are not on any medications or have any other significant med history (which can cause such symptoms), see an eyemd to check your refraction and your optic nerve appearance and function.
