Autoimmunity: Most thyroid problems are due to autoimmunity, where your immune system makes antibodies that target your own proteins & tissues. Some people w/ autoimmune thyroid disease have other autoimmune conditions as well. One such condition is premature graying. Unfortunate not much can be done to stop this.
