disc problem: Depends on duration, but chronic pain in that pattern could be caused by a pinched nerve in the neck. A detailed physical and neuro exam, if neck movement or talking on the phone in that arm aggravates symptoms, it is consistent, an MRI might be useful, if it is affecting performance or function. Otherwise anti inflammatories, rest about the neck with cardio low impact exercise useful.
