A member asked:

Is the tar pigment ever removed from ur lungs such that they turn pink again after u stop smoking(both marijuana and cigaretes)?iv smoked for 10 years

Wrong question: What you really want to know is whether you can expect the same life expectancy as someone who never smoked by stopping smoking now. For most smoking-related illnesses, the answer is yes -- after 5 years -- and that's good news. However, i think it isn't reasonable to expect that 10 years of smoking will not leave some kind of mark. Expect there to be some tar pigment, but don't worry about it.

Stopping helps!: Since you're 27, and provided you don't already have lung problems from smoking, if you stop smoking for ten years, your lungs will be fine again. Hope this answer helps.
