Fast: While not a good weight loss plan per se, fasting is an under-utilized health tool. Cutting calories by 30-40% (to about 1200-1400/day) will almost certainly lead to weight loss and has been shown to prolong lifespan in various species. Eliminating sugar in all forms is low-hanging fruit for most people.

Diet & exercise: Make sure you exercise at least 90 minutes a day, don't skip meals, avoid soda, juice, dairy, alcohol and fried foods. Eat a healthy well balanced diet! also water, organic vegetable broth, green leafy vegetables, natural pickles, apples are great to fill you up so you dont feel hungry and they are very low in calories.

Not well: Most short term weight loss is not effective. It comes right back. Losing a pound of fat means using up three to four thousand calories more than you take in. That takes time. Any reasonable weight loss plan takes months. Plan on about a pound a week.
