Bark worse then bite: Most people are extremely anxious about colonoscopy. You should make sure to find a provider that is willing to discuss the procedure with you and make you feel comfortable. If you are choosing sedation, you should be very comfortable during and will likely not remember the test. Most patients complain about the prep tmore then the test. But it's an important test and congratulations for doing it!

1st colonoscopy: During a colonoscopy you can expect to have to lie on a stretcher while you are being sedated. Many people remember nothing after that. Some people recall some abdominal pressure or cramps during the procedure. Sedation and pain medications can be given as needed during the procedure. Many doctors who perform colonoscopies utilize anesthesiologists to sedate their patients.
