Pain,swelling: Locking .Clicking, decreased range of motion of knee, pain on palpating etc can mean torn meniscus . An orthopedic specialist can initially diagnose it and confirmed later with an MRI . Good luck!

Meniscal tears: There are several types of meniscal tears (see pic). Some meniscal tears occur with acute injury and some as degenerative changes (over time). Common symptoms include pain, swelling, clicking/ popping, locking/ catching, giving way, and/ or limited range of motion. Hope this helps.
