Individual consult: To find something best suited to you, you need an individual re-assessment with your own doctor. There's no ssri as truly sedating as elavil (amitriptyline). In fact, this is partially why many ssri's are chosen over older antidepressants like Elavil (amitriptyline) anyway. People don't like to be drowsy in daytime. If you and your doctor are looking for sedation, an alternative (not an ssri) might be mirtazepine.

Antidepressants: There is no 1 answer to your question. Each person will react differently to each ssri. Trial and error.
