Dr. may prescribe T: A doctor may prescribe testosterone (such as the gel) if a person has low testosterone. Blood tests are done to check levels of free/total testosterone - before treatment and during treatment. The normal lab values, symptoms, and treatment is different for men & women. Being otherwise healthy, mentally and physically, is a benefit (men who lose a spouse feel grief & can drop testosterone levels).
