Not usually: Most antacids are used to relieve stomach acids from proliferating in the form of gatric reflux (upset stomach.) a bicarbonate (sodium bicarbonate) is used as a base to counter acids. However, patients having concerns with recurrent acid reflux have been known to experience enamel errosion. Errosion refers to a chemical process which weakens enamel and can cause a great deal of sensitivity. See your dentist!

Silver tooth pain: The sensitivity your refering to is a very common condition when an amalgam or (silver) filling comes into contact with metal, you get a shocking sensation. It is called a galvonic reaction, and it has to do with negativly charged ions exchanging with one another i believe, but this was many years ago in dental school. Best to know it is normal, and it is experienced by all who have silver fillin.
