Pre op imaging: During the process of evaluating this new lump, possible hernia, ask your team for a ct scan of your abdomen/pelvis. This imaging study will help your surgeon plan a hernia operation. The weight changes might not be related. If you have fever or vomiting get evaluated sooner. Good luck.

Sounds like: You have a recurrence of your hernia. If you have pain, nausea, vomiting, or fever, you need to go to nearest hospital er. If you don't you can wait a while, but go see your surgeon. He will be able to tell you what it is and what to do about it.

You may have a recurrent hernia, and may need a more complex treatment plan that focuses on your goals, previous operations, medical history, and anatomical details of the abdominal wall defect. You could check with the american hernia society to find out more.
