Could be: But i doubt it. Given the increasing number of musculoskeletal symptoms associated with the statins it would be prudent to hold your med for a few weeks and re evaluate. No one ever died or suffered from lack of a statin for a few weeks. Please discuss with your doc before doing this.

Atorvastarin: Such back pain may or may not be from the drug. The only way to prove that is to withdraw the medication. If the back pain goes away it still may or may not be caused by the medication. Better proof would be taking the medication again and if the back pain returns then that is better evidence that the drug g caused the back pain.
