Day, two days or so: If sore throat doesn't get better in a day or so, you may have something else going on which requires a different antibiotic or no antibiotic at all. Sore throat may also persist from runny nose and dripping into the back of throat. It can also be reflux from your stomach. If problem persists past week, see doctor again.

Pharyngitis: Is strep is proven. In lab.? If notify could all be viral infection and will run its course. Antibiotics may be not be useful in this case.

If it is indeed: A bacterial strep throat, yes, you will recover quickly. However, it can be viral... And rarely fungal infection. So be patient and follow you physician's advice. Wish you a full recovery! happy good friday and easter weekend!
