Cast bathing: Sponge bathing is probably the best until the casts come off. Alternatively, you could wrap the casts in a garbage bag and tightly rubber-band around the top above the cast. But be careful, wetness inside a cast can cause skin breakdown and it also really starts to stink!

Casts: There are cast protector shower bags that are helpful to many patients when they shower or bathe with casts on. Just be careful getting in and out of the tub or shower!

Above and Below..: It all depends on whether the casts are above the knee (ak) or below the knee(bk). I would think that above the knee casts would be dangerous to try bathing with. Best to go with a modified sponge bath. Bk casts are easier to maneuver in. But still, be careful.
