Bone marrow edema: Depends on the cause & location. Bone bruising or bone marrow edema (bme) is generally due to trauma or stress. Some systemic illnesses can also cause it. Often it seenon mri. Bme or bone bruise is not treated; if symptomatic, the cause is treated. Conservative treatment, infusion of prostacycline or bisphosphonates, and surgery are options. "bone marrow edema syndrome" is an entity.
