Sprained ankle: A sprained ankle depends on what grade it was given. Thier are 4 grades of an ankle sprain. The first two grades require no surgery, an ankle brace for 2 weeks for grade 1. Grade 2 might require longer immoblization with brace. Grade 3 rarely is surgery but cam boot is usually necssary with an orthotic placed in the boot for 6 to 8 weeks. Grade 4 has a more dispostion for surgical correction.
