A member asked:

My friend has stage 4 rhabdomyosarcoma. can this be cured?

Not commonly: Stage 4 indicates spread of cancer to organs away from the primary tumor site of origin. Treatment of this tumor type is challenging and cures are rare. A healthy diet and following the advice of the treating cancer specialist (oncologist) would be best. Many academic hospitals involved in cancer treatment offer the latest therapy, some experimental.

It can, but ...: It is very important for your friend to be treated by someone who has experience in treating this type of cancer, preferably at a academic medical institution. More people than not succumb to this stage of disease, however, there are long term survivors. I wish your friend the best.
