Yes: The pap smear checks the cells on your cervix to see if they are normal or not. It really is a safe and reliable way to keep yourself safe, and i highly recommend you have it done at whatever interval is right for you. And if you do have problem cells on your cervix it is much better to find them early when they can easily be treated.
