Certainly : With that large a tumor it could be even a stage 4. The pathology and workup including scans will determine the stage and what options are available to your mother, sorry to hear this. Early detection with colonoscopies can frequently avoid situations like this. When the dust settles be sure you and siblings get regular colonoscopies.
