A member asked:

I think i have vcjd, how did this happen?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Creutzfeldt-Jakob: This is a very rare brain degenerative disorder. Although hereditary and acquired presentations occur, spontaneous cases are the most common presentation. These cases are likely due mutation on the gene that codes for the protein implicated in the hereditary cases. Vcjd has been seen in residents of united kingdom & france. Check with your doctor to exclude other more common diseases first.
