What should i do when medication isn't enough for a herniated disc?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Several things : Time is biggest healer as 90% resolve with no surgery. Lifestyle changes like weight control, not smoking & regular exercise are important- core strengthening, cardiovascular & flexibility. This can be learned through physical therapy. Some people like to use inversion tables for traction or try acupuncture or even chiropractic . Epidural steroid injections an option & if warranted, surgery.
