I'm 8 weeks post total vaginal hysterectomy and i'm having unusual white stringy discharge. is this a normal part of healing?

Possibly.: However, if it's persistent and there is a lot, it won't hurt to give your surgeon a call and see if he or she would like to take a look to make sure there's no infection. Take care!

No: By 4 to 6 weeks after your surgery you should be completely healed. It is not likely that any discharge at 8 weeks is related to the hysterectomy. It is common and normal to have some vaginal discharge - if yours is unusual you should see your doctor.
